My Projects

MY FIRST PROJECT! A BEANIE!
As a first project it seems like a lot, but it’s really not. When you’re done you feel like you can make just about anything because knitting starts to make much more sense! There are two ways to make a beanie.  One is from the top to the bottom, and the other way is to do exactly the opposite.  I started from bottom to top. It’s much easier when beginning to knit or re-teach oneself to knit. Most patterns will require you to start at the bottom.

These are the beanies I made. I bought the yarn at Wal-Mart and had enough of it to make three beanies.  It is all one string of yarn; the colors change every few inches on the string so it has a cool effect once you knit with it.  Like camouflage.

This beanie pattern was from my grandma; it’s the same one she uses. This beanie is a great first-time project.  It will teach you most things you need to know about knitting overall.

BABY BOOTIES

You will need: 190 yards or so for two booties. Any color. Size 4 US circular knitting needles.  I haven’t tried it with straight double pointed needles yet. You will need the pattern or instructions on how to bind off if you don’t know how and a blunt needle to stitch up the sock when you’re done.
I am going baby bootie knitting crazy! So many babies to make them for! And quick before they grow too big!

SWATCH BANGLES
These are super easy and super fun.  The next time I teach someone how to knit, this is what I will teach them to make.  Check out the one I made below!

This is the free pattern I followed by See Mi Knit.

FINGERLESS GLOVES
These are as fun to make as socks are. Here is the free pattern by Knitting at KNoon that I followed.
I used circular knitting needles, but any method you prefer will work just fine.

I even made another pair with a ribbing pattern on the cuff!
